it's the holiday season and we are excited to enjoy the wonderful cool weather.
as we texans know full and well, it isn't cold much here in the houston area. When it is, you either love it or hate it, with no in between.
as tour guides, we go through a lot of issues with deciding what to wear when it's cold out, or the normal SWELTERING hot.
here are some of our costumes over the years!
I have no idea what we will come up with next. But i cant wait to see!
hope everyone has a super awesome holiday season.
some thoughts on hurricane harvey and our experience in it
in the aftermath of the storm, there have been so many challenges we have all been dared to face. as a whole, we at houston ghost tour are fortunate. our business does not have a store. we do not own a location that flooded our building, and we did not have to close down our doors.
but due to the massive amounts of flooding in our tour locations, we were forced to halt all business, and pause in waiting for a length of time inevitably unknown.
as a family owned local small business, we depend on the income we receive from our tours. but how can we complain? our suffering just seems to pale in comparison to what others are going through right now.
our small staff has all had our share of personal losses and hardships in our lives, but we all came out relatively unscathed. We are all grateful and hopeful because we weathered the storm together. but what about the others?
IT'S HARD TO BE NEGATIVE about your own problems WHEN YOU LOOK AROUND YOU AND SEE SO MANY HURTING AND SUFFERING PEOPLE THAT NEED HELP.
HOW CAN YOU FEEL SAD ABOUT YOUR OWN SITUATION, EVEN THOUGH IT MAY BE BIG TO YOU? YOU HELP OTHERS IN NEED.
THAT IS WHAT OUR COMMUNITY HAS SHOWN EVERYONE IN THE WORLD - WE CAME TOGETHER. WE STAYED STRONG. WE DIDN'T ASK QUESTIONS, INSTEAD WE ALL STOOD UP AND DID WHAT HAD TO BE DONE.
IT IS AMAZING TO US TO SEE THE AMOUNT OF HOUSTONIANS, TEXANS, AND VOLUNTEERS FROM ALL OVER THE NATION COME TOGETHER AS ONE COMMUNITY, AND SAVE PEOPLE'S LIVES.
WE HAVE COME TOGETHER IN A MONUMENTALLY HISTORIC WAY, DURING A DEADLY SITUATION, WITH PRIDE, HONOR, INTEGRITY, AND COURAGE - AND WE COMMEND EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU FOR YOUR DETERMINATION TO HELP IN THIS CRISIS.
WE WISH THE MOST COMPASSIONATE LOVE AND CARING TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN HARMED, OR HAVE LOST EVERYTHING THEY OWN, OR ARE SUFFERING FROM THIS STORM - YOU CAN COME OUT OF THIS STRONGER THAN BEFORE. THERE IS A LIGHT AHEAD, IF ANYONE HAS SHOWN US THAT, IT IS OUR GREAT NATION AND OUR GREAT STATE SWOOPING IN TO HELP US AND SAVE US. HOPE IS HERE, AND WE WILL COME OUT OF THIS STRONGER AND BETTER, TOGETHER.
we get to open our tours again for you in old town spring on september 8th. we hope you can join us as we will be donating a portion of all proceeds to the relief effort.
we look forward to sharing time together with you soon.
SINCERELY AND WITH LOVE,
THE HOUSTON GHOST TOUR TEAM
